BIO

Joey grew up in Providence R.I., in a home of love and artistry. His Grandfather was an opera singer / actor and performed on Broadway with the late great Lucille Ball. His dad was a guitarist / vocalist that traveled the country at a very young age with a theatre company and later on recorded an album of Italian and American songs. Very early on, Joey knew his blood was tainted with a love for music and it quickly became his passion. He studied guitar with Berklee professor Robert Schlink, and traveled throughout the U.S. playing in several bands, from show band to heavy rock band, exploring genres. Joey was chosen to be the guitarist for the 70's Big Show which performed a twelve city tour and he played guitar for Heatwave, McFadden and Whitehead, The Main Ingredient, Eddie Hollman, Barbara Mason, The Temprees, Black Ivory, The Delfonics, and Ray Goodman and Brown. He was sighted at one of the shows and offered to audition for Grammy Award Winners Tavares http://tavaresbrothers.com Joey was very familiar with their music and admired hearing the brothers fluid harmonies and funky grooves. Tavares is originally from Providence and Joey often saw them perform on Soultrain, The Midnight Special, American Bandstand, and heard them on local radio stations. Excited, he went to Boston and auditioned. He was hired and took to the brothers immediately. Joey toured with Tavares from 1998 to 2015. Joey endorses; Matrix Amplification,Stomp labels, Red bear picks, Mission Engineering pedals and Steve Clayton Custom Picks.
